Itinerary
Before starting this trip, you first have to reach Srinagar. You will meet our executive on arrival in Srinagar, who will welcome you with a drink. After that, he will load your luggage into the cab and take you to a houseboat at Dal Lake. After relaxing and adjusting to the environment, you will set out in the afternoon to visit famous Mughal gardens such as Nishat, also known as the Garden of Pleasure, and Shalimar, recognized as the abode of love. They lie along the banks of Dal Lake in the heart of Srinagar city. Later, you will also visit Shankaracharya Temple. Located on a hillock, it provides panoramic views of houseboats at Dal Lake and the entire town, along with the famous Dal Lake and River Jehlum. In the evening, you will return.
The following day, you will proceed to Sonamarg Valley. Along the way, you can enjoy the magnificent landscape, which includes snow-capped mountains, lush forests, snow-clad mountains, and clear streams of water. You will even pass via Marmar, known for its trout farm, and Kangan town, which serves as the local market for the residents. At Gagangir, a popular tourist destination surrounded by snow-capped mountains on all sides, we will drop off our vehicles. After spending some time here, we will move ahead. After arriving in Sonamarg, we will go on a 3-hour hike or horseback ride to the Thajiwas glacier, a popular destination in Sonamarg due to its stunning meadows. We’ll shop at the Kangan town’s local market when we return. Then, we make our way back to Srinagar for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today, we will check out of the hotel in the early morning and depart for Pahalgam. It is also known as the “Valley of Shepherds” and lies where streams from the Lidder River and Sheshnag Temple converge. Along the way, we’ll also stop at the remains of Awantipura, an 1100-year-old temple to Lord Vishnu constructed by King Awantivarman. When we get to Pahalgam, you can enjoy the area’s natural splendour or stroll the two kilometres to Baisaren. It’s a small village that is quite attractive and provides an excellent perspective, nestled in a pine and fir forest. In the evening, we will return to Pahalgam and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
We’ll start the fourth day of the journey with breakfast. After having breakfast, we will leave for Pahalgam sightseeing. By local union vehicle, we will visit Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari. Later, we will return to have our dinner and enjoy our overnight stay.
Your transfer from Pahalgam to Srinagar kicks off the fifth. While travelling, you will stop at the 9th-century Awantipura ruins and the Mattan Temple Complex. In the late afternoon, you will tour the Mughal Gardens, including Nishat, the Garden of Pleasure, and Shalimar, famous as the Abode of All. On Boulevard, we’ll also travel by the lake. When we return, we’ll stop by a neighbourhood handicraft shop to shop for hand-knotted products, including silken carpets, shawls, and jewellery accessories. Later, we’ll also go to the Shankaracharya Temple. As darkness falls, you will check into a hotel and enjoy your overnight stay.
On the sixth day of your journey, you will depart for Gulmarg after breakfast. You will drive through willow trees, swift-moving streams, and verdant meadows along the route. The lawn of flowers is an apt term for this idyllic flower-laden meadow. When you arrive in Gulmarg, a breathtaking view of high, snow-capped peaks surrounded by a thick, coniferous forest with enormous fir and pine trees welcomes you. You can stroll through this area for free, go on a pony ride (for a fee), or traverse the lush meadows to one of the highest golf courses in the world. In the evening, you will return to Srinagar, check into a hotel, and enjoy your comfortable overnight stay.
You will eat breakfast on the trip’s final day, after which you will pack everything. You will check out of the hotel after packing.
